Truman Middle School's Student Council will be hosting their 4th annual Veterans Day Breakfast for Veterans and active duty service members on Thursday, November 12, 2026 at 9:30 am in the Truman Middle School Cafeteria! Students related to the veteran will be able to attend the breakfast as well. Our 8th-grade students have been working on their Sustainable Schools Project, taking on the role of sustainability consultants for a new middle school under construction. Students developed proposals and designed models to make their assigned school locations more environmentally friendly by incorporating sustainable materials and encouraging environmentally responsible behaviors.

After the finalist teams were selected, students presented their proposals to a panel of judges, including Dr. Lake, Superintendent of Lindbergh Schools; Dr. Straatmann, Principal of Truman Middle School; Mrs. Nussbaum, Farmer’s Club Educator; and Mrs. Jezik of the Missouri Botanical Garden’s EarthWays Center.

We are proud of our students for their creativity, thoughtful problem-solving, and commitment to creating a more sustainable future!

We had a great first quarter at Truman! This week, students wrapped up quarter one electives, gave presentations, completed group projects, and performed for peers. Grades will be posted soon to show progress in classes so far this year.
