Our very own Officer Dellamorte being highlighted with Team USA's Men's Roller Hockey Team. Keep up the great work Dell!

Meet Nick DellaMorte of the USA Senior Men’s team, representing East Islip, New York and St. Louis, Missouri 🇺🇸

Known as Dell, Nick describes his game as tenacious, responsible, and a scorer.

His pre-game setup includes plain pasta and Skrilla by Kodak Black. And given the chance to trade places with an athlete for a day, this New Yorker is going with Derek Jeter.

For Nick, wearing the USA jersey means even more as he gets older. He knows the journey hasn’t happened alone, and every time he represents Team USA, he carries the people and experiences that helped shape him along the way.

Also, somebody please answer Dell’s most important in-game question:

“Where are we?”

🚨 PUBLIC SAFETY SCAM ALERT 🚨

The Hazelwood Police Department is reminding residents to be aware of phone scams involving callers who falsely claim to be law enforcement officers.

The Hazelwood Police Department will NEVER call you to tell you that you missed a court date or warrant and demand immediate payment over the phone to avoid arrest.

If you receive a call like this:
• Hang up immediately.
• Do not provide personal or financial information.
• Do not send money using gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or payment apps.
• If you have concerns about a court matter or believe you may have an outstanding warrant, contact the appropriate court or the Hazelwood Police Department directly at 314-838-5000.

Scammers often use fear and urgency to pressure victims into making quick decisions. Taking a moment to verify the information through official channels can help protect you and your loved ones.

The Hazelwood Police Explorer Post recently attended the St. Louis Exploring Association Explorer Academy, hosted at Missouri Baptist University. Throughout the week, our Explorers received hands-on training from law enforcement professionals in a variety of disciplines, helping them build the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed for future careers in public safety.

We are especially proud that the Hazelwood Police Department was able to contribute to the academy by sending officers to instruct in Defense Tactics, DWI Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFSTs), and Domestic Violence investigations.

Our Explorers represented Hazelwood exceptionally well, bringing home 1st Place in the Search Warrant Competition, and one of our Explorers earned the prestigious Top Explorer Award. These accomplishments are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and professionalism displayed throughout the academy.
