Everyone wants to know how athletic trainers and schools make the decision about practice and game modifications when it comes to heat. They use the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature.
What is wet-bulb temperature? 🌡️💧
Wet-bulb temperature measures how hot it feels when heat and humidity work together. It reflects how well sweat can evaporate and cool your body.
When humidity is high, sweat evaporates more slowly, making it harder for your body to regulate its temperature. That can increase the risk of heat exhaustion and heatstroke, especially during exercise or prolonged outdoor activity.
Heat and humidity matter.

When should athletes hydrate? 💧🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Hydration isn’t just a game-day habit. Build it into your routine:

✅ Before: Start drinking fluids throughout the day and arrive hydrated.
✅ During: Take regular sips, especially during long, intense, or hot-weather training.
✅ After: Replace fluids and electrolytes lost through sweat to support recovery.

Don’t wait until you feel thirsty. Make hydration part of your performance plan. Save this reminder and share it with a teammate.

Choosing swimwear color isn’t just about style — it can be about safety too. Bright, high-contrast colors like neon orange, pink, yellow, and lime green are easier to spot in and around the water, while blues, grays, and whites can blend in more. When it comes to swimwear, the safest choice is the one that stands out most. 💛🧡💚
