WWII Submarine Veterans St. Marys Submarine Museum has a lot of WWII Submarine history. Have just about 100% of the WWII patrol reports. This page is to get some of that info out.

1 September 2010 - Great seeing the WWII Subvets at the National Covnention.

1 September 1942 - Tambor (Ambruster) (3rd patrol) attacking the enemy. Silversides (Burlingaem) (2nd patrol) attacking the enemy. Tunny (Grenfell) is commissioned. S-35 starts overhaul at a shipyard.

08/31/2010

AUGUST 1942 - Monthly totals - 86,107 tons sunk, 19 vessels sunk. 99,842 miles steamed by US boat while using 867,850 gallons of fuel this month. Not all patrol reports entered all of the totals so these miles - gallons totals are for those boats that submitted the info in their patrol reports.

31 August 1942 - Growler (Gilmore) (2nd patrol) sinks cargo vessel. Silversides (Burlingame) (2nd patrol) attacking the enemy. CSD-53, CSS-2, AS Griffin & AS Holland are located in Brisbane. CSS-45, CSD-41 & CSD-52 are located in Dutch Harbor. CSS-4, CSS-8 & CSS-10 are located in Pearl Harbor. CSS-6 is located in Albany.

30 August 1942 - No data was recorded in my data base for this date. Still lots of info to enter into the data base so it does not mean something didn't happen this day in 1942. Great seeing the WWII Subvets at the 2010 national convention today in 2010.

29 August 1942 - Pickerel (Alston) (5th patrol) goes to overhaul on the mainland after patrol.

28 August 1942 - S-40 (Gambacorta) (6th patrol) deploys from Brisbane. Flying Fish (Donaho) (2nd patrol) attacking the enemy. Albacore (Lake) (1st patrol) deploys from Pearl Harbor. Grouper (McGregor) (2nd patrol) deploys from Pearl Harbor.

08/27/2010

27 August 1942 - Sargo (Gregory) (5th patrol) deploys from Fremantle. Trout (Ramage) (5th patrol) deploys from Pearl Harbor. Trout will travel 8,470 miles during this patrol.

08/26/2010

26 August 1942 - Seadragon (Ferral) (4th patrol) deploys from Fremantle. Greenling (Bruton) (2nd patrol) attacking the enemy. Haddock (Taylor) (1st patrol) sinks cargo vessel. S-23 (Duryea) (4th patrol) deploys from Dutch Harbor. S-31 (Sellers) (4th patrol) deploys from Dutch Harbor. Sawfish (Sands) commissioned.

08/25/2010

25 August 1942 - Gar (McGregor) (3rd patrol) visits tender in Albany. Seawolf (Warder) (6th patrol) sinks cargo vessel. Growler (Gilmore) (2nd patrol) sinks Ex Gunboat. Guardfish (Klakring) (1st patrol) attacking enemy, for 4th day in a row. S-45 (Eddy) (2nd patrol) deploys from Brisbane.

24 August 1942 - R-18 (Coye) (6th patrol) deploys from ST. Thomas, VI. S-14 (Loughlin) (4th patrol) visits with tender in Costa Rica Golfito. Saury (Newhinney) (4th patrol) attacking the enemy. Guardfish (Klakring) (1st patrol) sinks cargo vessel. S-33 (Schoeni) (3rd patrol) deploys from Dutch Harbor.

08/24/2010

23 August 1942 - Gar (McGregor) (3rd patrol) transit between Fremantle and Albany. Guardfish (Klakring) (1st patrol) attacking the enemy. Skipjack (Coe) (4th patrol) attacking the enemy. S-41 (Hartman) (4th patrol) attacking the enemy. Wahoo (Kennedy) (1st patrol) deploys from Pearl Harbor.
