SMFD Brantley County Fire response.

In an ongoing effort to support the catastrophic wildfires affecting Brantley County and surrounding areas, SMFD is deploying staff and fire apparatus daily to that location. This is projected to possibly be a long term and large scale event. We ask that the community continue to be aware of the fire danger locally and refrain for any and all burning.
Please keep those who are affected in your thoughts and prayers.

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, SMFD hosted a community Open House with fun activities for visitors of all ages! Participants were able to put out controlled fires with fire extinguishers, spray water from a fire hose, try on fire gear, work out on a firefighter physical training course and ride in a fire truck! We appreciate the great turn out and seeing so many friendly smiling faces!
