Bravo Zulu to the crew of the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Maryland (SSBN 738)!

U.S. Navy Adm. Rich Correll, commander of U.S. Strategic Command, presented the prestigious 2025 Omaha Trophy to the crews of USS Maryland (SSBN 738) at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Sponsored by USSTRATCOM and the Strategic Command Consultation Committee, the Omaha Trophy is awarded annually to elite military units that demonstrate the highest performance standards in strategic deterrence.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Cmdr. May and the May family for their steadfast leadership, dedication, and sacrifice throughout their tour. Their service and commitment made a lasting impact on Tennessee ( Blue)and the submarine force.

Today, Capt. Roman relinquished command of Submarine Squadron 20 to Capt. Thomas.

We thank Capt. Roman and the Roman family for their dedicated leadership, sacrifice, and unwavering support throughout their tour. Their commitment strengthened the squadron and the submarine force team.

We also extend a warm welcome to Capt. Thomas and the his family as they assume command of Submarine Squadron 20. We look forward to the leadership, partnership, and support they will bring to the squadron and waterfront community.
