Good evening Residents & Members,

Well, we've certainly been busy over the past 3 days. We started off on Wednesday, June 3rd, where we were requested to relocate to Roosevelt Station 1 on Cardinal Rd. The standby was approximately 11 hrs long as Roosevelt had multiple units at the scene assisting Fairview and many other Departments throughout the County, as well as Ulster County, on the property of the HRPC, in which I'm sure most of you are aware by now.

Special thank you to the West Clinton Support Group members for providing lunch & dinner to the members from West Clinton and Roosevelt that were on standby manning other Vehicles at Roosevelt Station 1.

And it didn't stop there! Yesterday afternoon, in Stanford, a 2nd Alarm was implemented on Tresell Ln off of Jamison Hill Rd for a House Fire. So yet again, this bought us to the scene to provide water & manpower, along with many other departments involved, including Pleasant Valley, Millbrook, East Clinton, Pine Plains & Milan.

Last night, following the Fire in Stanford, we then had a work detail to get 2 of trucks shined up for Saturday June 6th Clinton community day parade.

Then this morning on Friday, June 5th, shorly after 9am, we participated with Roosevelt, Hyde Park, Fairview, Empress & Hyde Park Police at Roosevelt High School for a simulated DWI Mock Drill. There were 2 simulated vehicles with victims needing extrication and simulated medical treatment. We would like to thank our Fire Police members whom assisted with Road closure & our Ems staff performing their duties as well.

Thank you to all for the past 3 days with not only volunteering your time, but the time taken from our families as a job well done by all Departments πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡² Involved for your Devotion as well.

At 9:10PM Sunday evening on May 3rd, 2026, the West Clinton Fire District was dispatched for a Priority 3 Auto Accident involving 1 vehicle at the intersection of North Quaker Ln & Forest Dr. Upon the arrival of our ambulance, they advised 911 Dispatch of a single occupant that was trapped & unresponsive, and requesting an ALS unit to the scene. Empress was promptly dispatched. Shortly after, our Rescue Truck & Engine arrived and we immediately jumped into action to extricate the male victim. As we were extricating, EMS was in back seat doing everything possible to their best ability considering the circumstances.

After removing the male subject, CPR was being administered immediately as the Paramedic deemed transport by ambulance to Mid Hudson Regional Hospital faster than waiting for the Medivac helicopter with a 21 minute ETA.The EMS Personal along with Firefighters did exactly what we train for, making this an outstanding effort by all, doing their very best with outstanding teamwork.

Unfortunately, when they arrived at the hospital, the Trauma Team soon after pronounced the patient deceased.

We were also assisted by the Town of Hyde Park Police & the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office as the Accident Reconstruction Team and West Clinton stayed to provide lighting. Also, for the road closure, the Fire Police and Emergency Vehicles on North side & South side stayed until the Investigation was completed and clearing the scene at 1:37AM, when the road reopened. Thank you to all involved! Outstanding teamwork from all!

This is what's it's all about, working together to make it work. Our prayers and thoughts πŸ™ go out to the Victims Family during this unfortunate & difficult time. The investigation is being conducted by the Dutchess County Sherriffs Office, so please refer to them for any further questions.

Regards .
Chief Brian Dingee.
