Silence and acceptance are one in the same. Inaction and complacency are one in the same. No matter intent or personal belief, this is how today's world works. Those in power cannot ignore that our county is at risk of being approached by DHS to build an ICE Detention Center due to the multiple factors this speaker has mentioned. Action must be taken, or we must question out local government's commitment to humanity!

Taking preventative action against ICE warehouses is never performative. It helps to prevent the building of such unjust institutions, quells the fear many community members feel, and shows those in power in Stafford stand for Humanity. In these times, we must reflect on the injustices in and around our county, and demand change. Without actions, words mean nothing!

We cannot allow history to repeat itself. Atrocities then are being repeated today in these ICE detention camps. We as a community must take action to prevent these acts of inhumanity from occurring in our county. Warehouses are for packages, not people!
