Serving our residents since 1946 The West Stafford Fire Department is Fire'Rescue/EMS agency located at 144 West Stafford Road in Stafford, Connecticut. It is also the site of Stafford's September 11, 2001 Memorial.

On August 21 at 1704 hours, 44House was dispatched for a 1 vehicle MVA with injuries, pole and wires down.

The lone occupant/operator was transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.

This morning, July 22nd, 44Truck visited the Summer Rec program to assist some future engineers with their project....

The mission given to the children was to design and construct, out of common items, a device to enable an egg to survive a drop from height without breaking,

Approximately 40 submissions, ranging from parachutes to padded containers (Or a combination of the above) were then dropped approximately 40 feet and inspected to see if their egg had survived the drop.

There was one submission that was a success!

All participants are to be commended on their ingenuity and work put into these designs!!

Yesterday, July 14, 2026 at 1619 Hours, 44House along with our Stafford #1 partners and Stafford Ambulance and a Somers Paramedic were dispatched to Conklin Road for a person lying in the roadway... C44 was on scene in minutes and ascertained that the injured person was dragged down the driveway by a family vehicle (unoccupied).

The person received serious injuries and Command requested Lifestar on a "Modified Scene" call to the helipad at Johnson Memorial.

The injured party was transported to a Hartford Area Level One Trauma Center.

The incident is under investigation by the Connecticut State Police.

Last evening at 2113 44House and our SFD #1 partners were dispatched to the 300 block of Monson Rd for an MVA....

While enroute TN updated C44 that crash detection in the vehicle reported a rollover. On arrival, units reported a pickup off the road down an embankment into the woods and a broken utility pole....There was no occupant in, or around the vehicle, raising concern that the occupant(s) had been ejected...

CSP requested a K9 to the scene.

Prior to arrival of the K9, a male returned to the scene and stated he was the lone occupant of the truck, which the K9 confirmed, tracking to the home and back to the scene....

Units cleared the scene after 2300 hours.

The photos are from a yearly event at the Sun Valley Resort that we do for a donation.....The event also gives our apparatus operators training in drafting from a water source and flowing water through 44Truck..

On this 250th Anniversary of this great nation, the United States of America, as you gather for picnics, cookouts, the beach, fireworks displays and celebrations, think about those Patriots who penned and signed our Declaration of Independence.

Think about all those who followed in the fight to bring that declaration to fruition, and those who defend our rights today.
