đź–¤ LVEI MOURNS THE LOSS OF JOHN OSBORN

Las Vegas Emergency Incidents joins the EMS and first responder community in mourning the passing of longtime paramedic, educator, mentor and EMS leader John Osborn.

John served as the Clinical Director of Community Ambulance and spent approximately 35 years working as a street paramedic, educating future EMTs and paramedics, and helping shape the local EMS community.

He was also the owner and administrator of Paramedics of Facebook, an online community with more than 800,000 followers that became one of the largest and most influential EMS communities in the world.

Earlier today, several LVEI group members reported a significant presence of police, fire and EMS personnel at MountainView Hospital, followed by a procession along the freeway. We have since learned that the response and procession were connected to John’s passing as members of the public safety community came together to honor one of their own.

We extend our deepest condolences to John’s family, friends, colleagues, students, Community Ambulance and the entire EMS community.

Rest easy, John. Thank you for a lifetime of service, leadership and dedication to others. Your impact will never be forgotten.

Thanks Erin Riordan for grabbing a great shot of Ambulance 747 and lifestar on the helipad at JMH. Yesterday our crew responded to a possible car vs pedestrian incident. Life star was requested for a "modified scene" at JMH.

The proposed rule highlights a long-standing disconnect: ambulance reimbursement pays for transports, while communities depend on agencies to maintain round-the-clock readiness

Our area will be impacted by a significant winter storm starting this evening.

We encourage our community to prepare now if you haven't done so already.

• Charge cell phones and portable electronic devices in case of power outages. Eversource has warned of the possibility of longer outage times.

• If you utilize home oxygen, confirm you have sufficient cylinders and an emergency backup plan should you be without power for an extended period of time.

Town of Stafford page is doing their best to keep our community informed. Consider checking the town page for updates as we may not be providing updates to our page as often.

Please stay safe and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.
