Brooke Volunteer Fire Rescue We are a Volunteers Serving Proudly Since 1963

We are thankful that the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the SAFER grant to provide 24/7/365 fire suppression coverage for the Brooke Community. Thanks to your generous donations, we have worked hard over the last several months to renovate a building that was not constructed in the 1960’s and 1970’s to accommodate 24-hour personnel. The addition of 4 new firefighters will no doubt put a strain on every building system. If things go as planned we will be in a new facility within 5 to 7 years. Thank you to Brooke community for your unwavering support.

Volunteers from Brooke Fire Rescue and Stafford Volunteer Fire Department teamed up to train on hose line deployment, ladder placement, and search operations.

Training together strengthens our skills, communication, and teamwork with the crews who will work alongside us on the fireground. These joint efforts help ensure Stafford County volunteers are prepared to answer the call and serve our community when it matters most.

We are very encouraged about FEMA awarding the SAFER Grant to Stafford County for additional personnel for Brooke Fire Rescue Station. While we know the county budget is extremely tight, we hope that the Board of Supervisors can find the funds to match the grant.

Stafford County Fire and Rescue is pleased to announce it has been awarded a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the amount of approximately $2.1 million. Pending final approval by the Stafford County Board of Supervisors, this federal grant will fund additional positions to provide fire protection in the Brooke area, working alongside our volunteer partners. This staffing will be in addition to the currently staffed medic unit at the Brooke station. SAFER grants cover a significant percentage of the cost of these positions over the next 3 years, providing financial relief to the county while also allowing the department to expand services to the community. Adding fire suppression staffing at the Brooke station will improve suppression response times in Brooke and surrounding areas.

Brooke firefighters participated in training for firefighter survival and rescue techniques tonight. Members practiced critical skills designed to help firefighters escape dangerous situations and rescue injured or trapped fellow firefighters.

Regular hands-on training improves readiness, strengthens teamwork, and helps ensure our members are prepared when every second counts.

There are men that call themselves leaders and there’s men that exemplify what a leader is. Battalion Chief Chris Jett has been a calm voice of reason as an incident commander, a mentor to many and always took care of his people. Today is his last shift before his retirement. Chief Jett never forgot where he came from as a volunteer and he will be missed. You are welcome at the kitchen table any time Chief. Enjoy your retirement and thank you from the members of Brooke Volunteer Fire Rescue.

Congratulations to Battalion Chief Christopher Jett on his retirement from Stafford County after more than 22 years of service to the county and more than 37 years total in the fire service. Congratulations and best wishes in retirement!

A huge thank-you to everyone who came out to support our Chick-fil-A fundraiser on Friday!

We were informed last night that Chick-fil-A had an incredible $30,000 in sales during the fundraiser hours. That means they will be donating $3,000 to Brooke Volunteer Fire Rescue!

We currently have several projects underway to renovate our building and update its electrical system, along with ongoing expenses for uniforms, equipment, and daily operations. Every dollar donated helps us continue improving our station and serving our community.

We are incredibly grateful to Chick-fil-A and to everyone who stopped by, shared the fundraiser, or helped spread the word. Your support made this possible—thank you! 🚒❤️
