The hearing for March 20th has been deferred until April 17th. There are some matters that need to be coordinated prior to going before the Board. We will send out a confirmation prior to the hearing date. We hope that everyone can come to the hearing that night. If not, please send your supervisor an email in support of the project.

The Board of Supervisor's approval is the last needed to finalize the rezoning and brings us that much closer to making this a reality. Please come out and support the project. The Planning Commission continued the hearing until Oct. 19th in order to confirm information with the School Board as well as work out an additional item. Continuation is very common with Planning Commission hearings as the commissioners want to make sure they've reviewed the project thoroughly and make an informed decision.

Met with the Parkridge neighbors last night. We had a very constructive discussion regarding the impact of the facility on their neighborhood. There was a lot of good feedback on their concerns. The buffer design presented was generally acceptable. Additional measures like lengthening fence lines, reviewing existing or potential drainage problems and removing or pruning potentially hazardous trees will be incorporated in the construction phase. We also anticipate continued coordination with the Parkridge community to identify and address issues that may come to light over the course of construction and during operations.

We want to thank everyone who took the time to come out last night to meet with us and provide such valuable direct feedback.

The continuation of the Planning Commission hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, October 5th at 6:30 pm at the Government Center. There is no opportunity for the public to speak at this hearing since the public forum was closed at the last hearing. However, a show of support will be noticed by the commissioners. If you can or can't make it, please continue to send emails to your commissioners and supervisors. They need to know there is a consistent support for the project. We hope to see you wednesday evening!
