The Fort Bend County Libraries’ Library of Things officially launches on June 8, 2026, at George Memorial Library in Richmond! Thanks to an initiative started by high school seniors Rishan Hemrajani and Kyle Nguyen, you can now borrow useful items for free -- just like books.

A variety of items are available for checkout now; a sampling includes: a telescope, a metal detector, a projector, podcast equipment, and more. 🔭🛠️

You can borrow items you might need on an occasional basis — without having to make a big purchase — or you can try out things that you're considering buying before making the purchase!

To check out items, you must:
✅ Be at least 18 years old and a Fort Bend County resident.
✅ Have a full-service or homebound library card.
✅ Provide a valid photo ID and proof of residence.
