Fort Bend Water Control District #2 James Williams Surface Water Treatment Facility 3.0 MGD (million gal/day) Surface Water Treatment Plant.

It's source water is pumped from the Brazos River in Fort Bend County Texas. The process steps include coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, micro filtration (1.0 micron) taste and odor removal by use of custom taylored Granular Activated Carbon, disinfection, and corrosion control for the distribution system. A 2 step disinfection scheme is use in the treatment plant process. First a approx d

osage of CLO2 (Chlorine Dioxide) of 0.8mg/l in the primary disinfection zone, in the secondary disinfection zone, a monochloramine is utilized on a breakpoint chlorination curve for an optimum chlorine residual. a varying dosage of Sodium Hypochlorite and Liquid Ammonium Sulfate in a 3.75 : 1.0 mg/l ratio respectively. Then the water is pumped to the public for distribution.
