Please be mindful of any exposure to bats and seek treatment as needed.

Be aware if you find a bat indoors. Bat bites can be so small that you may not even notice it. If you don't know whether the bat touched you, then you are considered potentially exposed to rabies. If this happens, it's important to catch the bat so it can be tested. If the bat does have rabies, you will need vaccines to prevent rabies infection.

Before the Zoning board meeting on September 2, there will be a open house in the County Annex for the public to stop in and learn about the solar and storage projects being proposed in Stafford County. Those interested are welcome to stop in any time on August 19, from 4-7pm, to meet with the team involved and ask any questions.

I am sorry to say that you may be experiencing brown water again today as the crew is re-filling the smaller water tank down behind the power plant. Unfortunately these type of projects must be done in order to keep the water supply clean and safe. All we can tell you is to run your cold water out of all faucets to clear it. You can even use your outdoor faucets to speed up the process. Do not use hot water as this will stay in your hot water tank for a long period of time. We will also be flushing fire hydrants in the near future and monitoring their pressure and that will cause some line stir also. We will give you notice when that begins. The same procedure will need to be followed anytime your water turns brown.

NOTICE: Today the City of Stafford has a company who is cleaning the large water tower. This will take several hours to be cleaned. Following the cleaning procedure , the tower will begin to be refilled. Please be patient as customers may experience a brown colored water. Simply run cold water through your faucets around the house and that should clear the water up. Avoid using hot water so that it does not run through your hot water heater. Thank you for your patience as we work to complete maintenance tasks.
