📢 Help improve transition resources for Virginia students with disabilities!

Virginia's Dept. of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) wants to hear from families, educators, and service providers about how to make the transition from high school to adulthood easier for students with disabilities.

What's working? What's missing? How can we make it easier to find information about employment, education, independent living, and other supports?

Time for our Pet of the Week with Stafford County Animal Shelter

Meet Sweet Madonna, a 3-year-old sweetheart who is ready to find the family she’s been waiting for!

Madonna came to us as a stray, and sadly, no one came to reclaim her. Now, this 45-pound girl is hoping her next chapter will be with a family who will love her forever! She enjoys the company of other dogs! She’s house-trained! She’s a quiet girl who would love to be part of a home. She did wonderfully during a sleepover with a 3-year-old child and a 10-month-old baby!

She is very interested in cats and appears to want to chase them, so a home without cats would likely be the best fit.

Sweet Madonna loves having company and seems happiest when she has friends around. She’s the kind of girl who deserves a cozy home, a loving family, and a place to finally call her own.

Madonna is up to date on her baseline vaccines but has not been spayed yet.

Could Sweet Madonna be the missing piece of your family? Come meet our Adoptable Pup of the Week and see if this sweet girl is the one for you!

Please share to help Madonna find her forever home!
