📢 Great news! The federal government is once again offering free at-home COVID-19 tests. Starting September 25th, each household can order a package of 4 free rapid tests at covid.gov/tests.

With COVID-19 cases rising again as we head into fall and winter, having these free and convenient tests on hand can help protect you, your family, and your community. Getting tested if you have symptoms or were exposed is key to minimizing spread.

Be sure to take advantage and order your free tests as soon as ordering opens this Sunday 9/25. Stay healthy, friends! 😷

Jeremy Bennett from the Virginia Association of Counties presented a VACo Achievement Award to Chairman Yeung and Supervisor Bohmke at a Board meeting. Stafford won for its high school internship to full-time position program in Utilities. Eddie Davis, third from left, graduated high school last year, interned for Stafford and is now a full-time employee.

Construction is nearing completion on the $6.25 million Enon Water Tank. The tank will provide storage for increased water flow to the growing northern end of the county. Please be aware of the ongoing utilities project happening in the Route 3/Kings Highway median between Washington Square Plaza and Leonard Road beginning on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

Traffic control measures will be in place and the eastbound left lane of Route 3 will be closed during work hours.

The NWS has issued a Heat Advisory for Stafford County from 12 to 8 PM. Heat index values from 100 to 105 are expected.

Remember to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks and never leave your child or pet alone in the car.
