The Taiwan International Orchid Show (TIOS), one of the three main international orchid shows, is held annually by Tainan City Government in March. The orchid show aims to increase the prosperity of the orchid industry of Taiwan, increase the global trade, foster public’s interest in appreciating the beauty of orchids, promote tourism in Taiwan by hosting international conferences and exhibitions, and integrate cultural, creative, and biotechnology industry.
The theme of TIOS 2017 is “Discover Sustainable Orchids.” The show uses VR technology to let the public learn about orchids more easily, providing a cutting-edge method to promote science education related to orchids. TIOS 2017 also highlights the strong connection between orchids and the city, and increases the visibility of the orchid industry. TIOS 2017 invites visitors to explore the beauty of Tainan and orchids, and to get to know more about the lifestyle, ecology, industry, and technology in Tainan. The show will be held from March 4 to 13 at the Taiwan Orchid Plantation, No. 325, Wushulin, Houbi District, Tainan City.
