Stable housing starts with stable health.

On May 19th, we partnered with Family Centers to host a preventative health testing day at our shelter, offering free screenings and connecting guests with medical resources.
Events like this reflect our commitment to integrating health services into our programming.

Thank you to Family Center Cares for their partnership and to our shelter staff for their coordination and support.

On Memorial Day, we honor those who have served our country.

Veterans make up a significant portion of the individuals experiencing homelessness across the United States, including here in Fairfield County. At Pacific House, we serve veterans through our emergency shelter and connect them to the permanent supportive housing and services they need to regain stability.

For the neighbors we serve who have worn a uniform, our commitment is the same as it is for everyone who walks through our doors: stability, dignity, and a path forward.

Thank you to all who have served.

Across Fairfield County, the need for affordable housing continues to grow. Housing costs have risen and the supply of affordable homes has not kept pace. Right now, Stamford alone has approximately 7,500 extremely low-income households, with only 3,400 units affordable to that population.

Pacific House is ready to act. We have architectural plans to convert existing space in our properties into new housing units. We have a workforce-focused housing program that pairs families with trained case managers to build income and long-term stability. What stands between these plans and new housing is your support.

Every gift this spring helps Pacific House expand affordable housing, scale our workforce pathway program, and reach more neighbors who need a stable place to call home.

Your generosity is the key. 🏠

Every person who walks through our doors carries a story. πŸ’™

When this young client first came to Pacific House, he was navigating chronic mental health challenges with no family nearby and nowhere certain to turn. He had been living in his car and on the streets of New Jersey before arriving in Connecticut, and opening up didn't come easy.

But trust is built one conversation at a time.

With patience and consistent support from our social services team, something shifted. He began engaging with mental health counseling, connecting with community resources, and eventually started talking about his future. His goal? To go back to school and earn his bachelor's degree.

Today he is connected to the care and services he needs to move forward, and his story is proof that progress begins with stability, trust, and showing up for someone until they're ready to show up for themselves.

Our community makes this work possible, and we are grateful.

This year, volunteers prepared and served more than 250 dinners through our Meal-a-Month Program, contributing to 59,760 total meals served to an average of 83 clients daily. That consistent community presence allows Pacific House to direct more resources toward the case management and supportive services that help people stay stably housed.

Volunteers, donors, and partners show up in so many ways at Pacific House, whether it is preparing a meal, making a gift, lending a professional skill, or advocating for our clients. Each contribution, large or small, is part of what makes lasting change possible in Fairfield County.

For 40 years, this community has been the reason Pacific House remains a place where hope arrives, safety begins, and stability rebuilds. Thank you.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The connection between stable housing and mental wellness is real, and it runs in both directions.

At Pacific House, our case managers work alongside each resident to connect them with the full network of support they need, including behavioral health providers, hospitals, domestic violence prevention organizations, faith communities, workforce centers, and more. Housing provides the foundation. Our partners help people heal and rebuild on top of it.

We believe that no neighbor should have to navigate these systems alone. That is why community partnership is at the center of everything we do.

Happy Mother's Day to the mothers, caregivers, and families in our community. Every mother and family deserves safety, stability, and support. πŸ’™

Pacific House serves women, men, and families with children across Fairfield County. For the families with whom we work, stable housing is what makes everything else possible: focusing on work, building income, and raising children with consistency and care.

The housing portfolio in Stamford is also growing. One new property opening in 2027 will provide housing for 18 families. A second property, also scheduled to open in 2027, will house 15 families. And through the workforce-focused housing program, in partnership with the State of CT and administered by the Corporation for Supportive House, families work closely with a case manager to increase their income and build a long-term housing plan, all while staying stably housed.

This Mother's Day, you can help make that possible. Your gift supports the case managers and housing expansion that give families a real path forward.

A big thank you to the volunteers from Philip Morris International who came out to Pacific House this month to support our shelter operations.

Their team helped with the cleaning and organization of our kitchen and storage areas, two of the most heavily used spaces in our shelter. That kind of hands-on support makes a real difference for the staff and neighbors we serve every day.

We are grateful for corporate partners who show up in meaningful ways. If your organization is interested in volunteering at Pacific House, we would love to connect.

May is National Affordable Housing Month and for us, it's personal. 🏠

For 40 years, Pacific House has worked to make sure that families in Fairfield County have a safe, stable place to call home. This year alone, we served over 1,100 people β€” through emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, outreach, and diversion services.

Our portfolio of 15 homes across Stamford, Norwalk, and Darien includes 121 housing units that housed 220+ residents throughout the year. Each resident is provided case management services because a roof is just the beginning.

Housing is the foundation for everything else: health, employment, family, and hope. This month, we're proud to stand for the belief that every person deserves one.
