A Distinguished Visit to the Ukrainian Museum and Library of Stamford
Today, the Ukrainian Museum and Library of Stamford had the great honor of welcoming Congressman Jim Himes and Senator Richard Blumenthal to our historic institution for an important and meaningful discussion on Ukraine, its resilience, and the future of U.S.-Ukraine relations.
This special gathering was made possible through the efforts and vision of Tedrowe Bonner, Alexander Kuzma, and George Lencyk, and so many others, who organized this meeting and brought our distinguished guests together in the Museum's beautiful Gold Room. The morning began with a heartfelt opening and welcome address by Bishop Paul Chomnycky, followed by remarks from Alexander Kuzma, who initiated a thoughtful conversation with Congressman Himes and Senator Blumenthal.
The meeting created a valuable opportunity for guests and representatives of Ukrainian organizations from across Connecticut to engage directly with our elected officials. The exchange was marked by openness, optimism, and a shared commitment to the defense of freedom and democratic values.
Congressman Himes and Senator Blumenthal shared personal reflections from their recent visit to Ukraine, speaking of the courage and determination of the Ukrainian people and armed forces. They described witnessing firsthand how Ukrainian defenders continue to resist and push back against Russian aggression, while also emphasizing Ukraine's remarkable innovation, resilience, and growing military and technological capabilities.
Their message was one of hope: Ukraine remains strong, its people remain steadfast, and the partnership between Ukraine and the United States continues to be of profound importance. They also highlighted the vital role played by the Ukrainian-American community in sustaining support for Ukraine and preserving the values of liberty and self-determination.
We are deeply grateful and honored that the Ukrainian Museum and Library of Stamford could serve as the venue for this significant meeting. Our Ukrainian Museum has always been a place where history, culture, and community come together, and today was yet another example of our commitment to fostering dialogue, preserving Ukrainian heritage, and supporting Ukraine during these challenging times.
We extend our sincere thanks to Congressman Jim Himes, Senator Richard Blumenthal, Bishop Paul Chomnycky, Alexander Kuzma, Tedrowe Bonner, George Lencyk, guests and all representatives of Connecticut's Ukrainian organizations who joined us for this memorable occasion.
Together, we stand with Ukraine.
Слава Україні! Героям Слава!
