Samantha Nitzsche added another incredible chapter to her already remarkable career, winning the VHSL Class 3 State Championship in the 1600 Meter Run and setting a new state record with a blazing time of 4:52.86.

This is in addition to the record and championship earlier today!

To compete at the highest level is impressive. To consistently rise to the occasion when the stakes are highest is something truly special.

History was made today in the Girls Class 3 3200 Meter Run!

Congratulations to Samantha Nitzsche of William Monroe High School for capturing the VHSL Class 3 State Championship and setting a new Class 3 State Record with an incredible time of 10:36.22!

Our first Summer Meal Boxes shipped this week โ€” and there is still time to sign up!

Greene County Public Schools is excited to continue offering FREE Summer Meal Boxes for all GCPS students and siblings 18 years old and younger throughout the summer.

Families who register will receive 7-day meal boxes delivered directly to their home each week, helping ensure students continue to have access to nutritious meals during the summer months.

Surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, and administrators, we gathered to celebrate the lasting impact these dedicated individuals have made on our students, schools, and community.

Throughout the morning, heartfelt words were shared recognizing years of service, unwavering commitment, and the relationships built along the way. Each retiree has helped shape the culture and success of GCPS, and their influence will continue to be felt for years to come.

They created incredible content, engaging videos & graphics, and even helped out with some division level social media projects. We are incredibly thankful to them for helping to tell our story. Today, we celebrated one of the sweetest milestones of the school year as our Ruckersville Elementary School kindergarten students officially graduated and prepared to take their next big step into 1st grade! ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ“š

The smiles, songs, excitement, and proud moments shared by students, families, and staff made for a truly special celebration. It has been incredible watching these young learners grow in confidence, curiosity, and kindness throughout the year.

A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers, staff, and families who helped support and guide our students every step of the way. We are so proud of our kindergarten graduates and cannot wait to see all they accomplish in the years ahead.

Today, we celebrated an important milestone for our 8th graders during the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony at William Monroe Middle School.

This special event recognized the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of our students as they prepare to begin the next chapter of their educational journey at William Monroe High School.

Congratulations to all of our students and families on this exciting achievement. We are proud of each and every one of you and canโ€™t wait to see all that you accomplish in high school and beyond.

Families with students with last names in the remaining sections of the alphabet will celebrate their promotion ceremony tomorrow morning at 9AM. We look forward to recognizing more of our outstanding 8th graders then!

This morning marked the beginning of a week full of celebrations across Greene County Public Schools!

Congratulations to the kindergarten students in Ms. Woodsโ€™, Ms. Mooreโ€™s, and Ms. Breedenโ€™s classes at Nathanael Greene Primary School, who were proudly promoted to 1st grade today. Their smiles, excitement, and accomplishments were a wonderful reminder of how much growth happens during these early years of school.

As we celebrate this important milestone, we look forward to honoring many more students throughout the week as they take the next step in their educational journey.
