The Governor’s Office has announced additional holiday hours for Labor Day. As a result, the Greene County Government Offices will close at 12 noon on Friday, September 4, 2026.

The following will operate on their regular schedules:
• Transfer Station
• Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants
• Emergency Medical Services
• Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office
• Clerk of the Circuit Court

We are receiving reports of trees down and high water ACROSS the county. Please refrain from traveling until further notice.

UPDATE: Water has been restored and there is no boil water advisory required.

There is a water main break near 1207 Ford Avenue in Stanardsville. Water will be shut down for about 6 hours beginning now for the repairs. The impacted areas include 1043 Ford Avenue to 1292 Ford Avenue and 467 Octonia Road to 471 Octonia Road. There was no loss of pressure so there will be no need to boil water after this repair.
