We had a wonderful celebration to honor Diane Chin on May 4 before she retires later this summer. Faculty, students, staff, and alumni gathered to celebrate Diane and reflect on the impact she has had on our community and the institution. Many thanks go to the alumni who traveled from near and far to return to campus. This photo was taken at the end of the evening, so we may have missed alumni who slipped out earlier.

In our latest e-newsletter, you can read about the Levin Center's staff transitions; a new summer fellowship program designed to support students who will advocate for farmworkers in California in memory of Gene Martinez, JD ’75; a gallery of photos from our first post-pandemic major event, the Fall Public Service Awards; and an update from the students who traveled to the border to work with human rights NGOs.

After a particularly epic series of winter storms here in Northern California, I feel like we are finally starting to see glimmers of nice weather. Change is in the air. As spring approaches, it always makes me think of renewal and growth, which seems appropriate as we are also experiencing some maj...

Stanford Law School's Dean, Jenny Martinez, recently shared with faculty, students, and staff the bittersweet news that Diane Chin will step down as the law school’s associate dean for public service and public interest law later this summer, though she will remain involved in the Stanford Law Scholars Institute (https://law.stanford.edu/education/special-programs/stanford-law-scholars-institute/) for years to come.

The law school is delighted, however, that Anna Wang has agreed to serve as its next public interest associate dean. Please hold May 4, from 5 to 7 PM for Diane’s retirement party at the law school. You can RSVP here: https://forms.gle/BrwfiLbgL2TE4yVbA

SLS has also launched a search for Anna Wang’s successor in the role of Levin Center executive director. Please share the announcement widely!
