Students for Alternatives to Militarism - SAM Antiwar/pro-peace Stanford University student group opposed to military oppression and imperialism w

We are a group of students and members of the Stanford community who have come together to work for peace and justice. Believing in fundamental human rights and the preciousness of all human life, we welcome all people who oppose aggression, militarism, war crimes and war criminals. We will work to create an inclusive, tolerant, respectful environment that engages with issues facing us in the worl

d, and breaks the silence on the serious questions war raises in our community. We will work, through nonviolent and peaceful means, to make Stanford a better place in a better world: free of war criminals, free of war profiteers, a place of knowledge and learning for peaceful ends, and aware of the role that the university, and more broadly the United States, plays in the world.

Consider bringing the antiwar message to your local "No Kings" rallies this weekend. The most extreme expression of the U.S. administration's disregard for constitutional rule of law is the President's aggressive war policy.

Protests at Stanford University have been peaceful yet the administration there is seeking punitive responses. This op-ed is an excellent reminder of why these protests are meaningful and important.

"But as the administration well knows, students are not 'camping' for recreational purposes, but rather using their encampment to peacefully protest Stanford’s investments in the destruction of the Palestinian people," writes David Palumbo-Liu and Mikael Wolfe.

He changed my life and influenced the direction of my life even though I never met him. I hope some can share their reflections here...
