As the Stanford Fire Department, we are proud to carry forward the legacy of Mayor Dalton Miller, whose six years of dedicated leadership strengthened our community through service, integrity, and a deep commitment to our residents. We remain committed to protecting the lives and homes of Stanford with the same passion and professionalism he brought to every challenge, always putting people first. Thank you, Mayor Miller, your impact will continue to guide us as we serve this great city.

Six years…gone by so fast. The difference you have made in this City will be felt far longer than any of us will live to see. The faces of children now adults that have walked in City Hall just to say thank you, the lives changed will march on for countless generations to come. The laughter that rang from friends and family who were always welcomed with open arms and strangers who left as new friends will continue to shape the way we make time for and see the importance of the people over the task. There are not enough words to tell you thank you but know that you have forever changed us.

Yes, we are better financially, staffed stronger than ever, equipped with the tools we need to succeed, growing economically and fiscally, but above all that you showed us how to:

-Lead by example, family is ALWAYS first. Speak truth into their lives, even when they don’t like it. Make time. Love them fiercely!

-Be proud of your hometown, know its history, support it. “They” are you! We need each other more than we want to admit. Heaven will not have sections filled with only the people you like.

-Value others! “I don’t have to know everything. I just need to surround myself with people who do.”
Relationships matter! Surround yourself with people you trust and then empower them to be the best they can be.
I’ve worked a lot of places in my years, but never have I felt more capable and grown so much. I was never afraid to say I made a mistake. I knew I would not be yelled at or condemned, but given the encouragement and whatever help I needed to make it right.

-Love out loud! “He may have made a mistake but he is still my friend and he needs to know he’s loved, so I told him.” Words matter, say them and say them often.

-Fight and fight hard! Then trust God with the outcome. His way is always good. In the mean time, find someone else to help. Your work isn’t done just because life gets hard.

-Be ready, we aren’t home yet! “Y’all listen, if you want to see me again, get your heart and life right with Jesus, ‘cause that’s where I’ll be.”

We want to extend a huge thank you to the Ephraim McDowell Healthcare Foundation for selecting us in their AED Grant Award program. Every second counts during cardiac emergencies, having an AED nearby can mean the difference between life and death. This new unit strengthens our ability to respond quickly and effectively when it matters most.

Kentucky State Police Investigate Collision involving Stanford Police Cruiser

STANFORD, Ky. (April 2, 2026) – The Kentucky State Police, Post 7 in Richmond, was contacted just before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of US-150 and US-27 in Lincoln County.

Troopers, along with medical personnel, responded to the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates that a marked Stanford Police Department patrol vehicle (2021 Dodge Durango), operated by Officer John Williams, was traveling east on US-150. As the officer proceeded through the intersection, a 2018 red Cadillac XT5, operated by Joan Hackley, was traveling west on US-150 and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto US-27, disregarding a traffic control device and striking the Dodge Durango.

As a result of the collision, Officer Williams and Mrs. Hackley were both transported to Fort Logan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Bailie Wilson. She was assisted at the scene by Post 7 personnel, the Stanford Police Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln County EMS, and the Stanford City Fire Department.
