We had a fantastic turn out for our 2026 Local Work Group Meeting! A total of 18 people attended varying from state and federal employees, to local government, to landowners and producers. The meeting sparked some great discussions about priority resource concerns in Judith Basin County and highlighted the importance of boots-on-the-ground experience. Information from today’s meeting will be used by NRCS and JBCD to help prioritize projects, education and outreach events, and collaboration opportunities.

If you come across Eastern Heath Snails, please either contact me to record the location, or you can report your sighting on the app “Seek” or iNaturalist! These buggers are really starting to spread across the state and it only takes one snail to reproduce. If you see snails on the tops of grass, fence posts, other vegetation, etc. those are Eastern Heath Snails.
