Tonight, providers from our dept and Minier Rescue Squad participated in our regularly scheduled EMS training. The evening began with continuing education provided by MCAEMS, helping our providers stay current on the latest information and best practices in prehospital care.

Following the educational portion, members rotated through several hands-on skills stations focused on airway placement and suctioning, bleeding control, and splinting techniques. These stations provided an opportunity to review and practice essential skills that play a vital role in patient care.

Training together on a regular basis helps strengthen the working relationship between our agencies while ensuring our personnel remain prepared to provide the highest level of care to the communities we serve.

Tonight, members participated in an extrication training scenario involving a 2-vehicle crash with multiple patients. Crews worked through scene size-up, vehicle stabilization, patient access, extrication techniques, and coordinated patient care in a realistic training environment.

A big thank you to Minier Rescue Squad for joining us and helping make tonight’s training a success. Working together during training helps strengthen the teamwork and communication needed during real emergencies.

We would also like to thank our volunteer victims for taking part in tonight’s scenario and helping make the training as realistic as possible. Their participation plays an important role in helping our members train for real-world situations.

This week, we proudly recognize EMS Week 2026 and all of the dedicated EMS professionals who serve our community each and every day.

This year’s EMS Week theme, “Improving Outcomes, Together,” highlights the teamwork and collaboration that are essential in emergency services. From dispatchers and first responders to EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, nurses, and hospital staff, it takes all of us working together to provide the best possible care when seconds matter most.
