If you have not visited Custer, you are missing out!

Visit the museum and see how the residents of this 19th century town lived. Walk through historic cabins and a cemetery or two and learn how to pan for gold. Then head to the Saloon to purchase gifts, snacks, drinks, souvenirs, and books. Four-legged visitors are welcome, too. But please keep them leashed.

The historical time line of the Yankee Fork ranges from 1864 to the 1990 when the Land of the Yankee Fork Historic Area was established.

The area we know as the Yankee Fork is packed full of . In fact the initial discovery of the Bay Horse (another ghost town in Custer County) area is dated back to 1864 (way before the internet!). And the first Prospectors were on the Yankee Fork around 1866!
