Important Notice

Norfolk Southern will be making repairs to the East Main Street railroad crossing starting Monday June 15th to Friday June 19th . East Main Street will be blocked to all traffic the entire time and everyone will need to use alternate routes such as Judy Lane or Brady Road. Anyone with questions may call Terry Pettit, Town Manager at 540-778-3454 ext 24 or at 540-860-8225.

The Town of Stanley would like to recognize Karron Fields who has been our Waste Management driver for many years. Karron will be taking another position for Waste Management and we will miss him. He went way above his job description to make sure our trash containers were picked up each week getting out of his truck many times to stand up ones that had fell over before he dumped them. Thank you Karron for your dedication to Stanley and we know you will do just as good job in your new position as you did here.

The Town of Stanley is now accepting nominations for this year’s 2026 Homecoming awards. Nominations will be accepted for the following categories, Business Award, Veterans Award,
Youth Award, Senior Citizen Award and Citizen or Citizens of the year award. Deadline will be 4 p.m., June 10th. Award winners will be announced on July 4th, shortly after the Homecoming parade. Please put nominations in a sealed envelope with the category and nominee marked on the outside along with the attention to Terry A. Pettit, Town Manager. They may be left at the Stanley Town Office, 278 East Main Street, or mailed to Stanley Town Office, P.O. Box 220, Stanley, Virginia 22851. Emails are also accepted at [email protected].

Trash pickup schedule for Memorial Day Holiday, Wednesday customers will be picked up on Thursday, May 28th and Thursday customers will be picked up on Friday, May 29th.

Spring Cleanup Week April 27th - May 1st.

Town Residents only

One truck load per household and cannot take the following:

Tires, batteries, paint or hazard materials
Brush must be in eight foot lengths or less

And one pickup load per resident
