🚒💧FIRE HYDRANT MAINTENANCE NOTICE 💧🚒

An informational update to our residents and local fire departments:

Over the coming days and weeks, the Water Department will be out cleaning, priming, and painting fire hydrants throughout the area.

During this process, you may notice hydrants that look faded, discolored, or are temporarily a different color due to old paint being scrubbed away or a coat of primer being applied.

Please be assured: these hydrants are fully operational and can be used if needed.

Because crews are working through the cleaning, priming, and painting process, some hydrants may not have their proper finished color for a day or two.

Thank you for your patience while the Water Department works to maintain and freshen up our hydrants.

⚠️ROAD WORK ALERT ⚠️

The Town of Seneca Highway Department will be paving Flat Street tomorrow. This work will be from State Route 14A to Kashong Switch. This project should take only one day, weather dependent. We will update if it should take longer.

Please find an alternate route if you utilize that area for your daily commute. Local traffic is permitted.

🚧 ROADWORK UPDATE – STANLEY 🚧

Suit-Kote will be micro-paving in Stanley tomorrow, Friday, 5/15/2025.

âś… Washburn Avenue is currently finished.

Today, crews will be spending the remainder of the day repairing a piece of broken equipment. They plan to begin work tomorrow on W. Main St. and South St.

Work is expected to start after all school buses have gone through, pending decent weather conditions.

⚠️ Please limit traffic as much as possible and plan for delays if you are local to these streets.

We sincerely apologize for the lack of communication on this matter; however, we unfortunately learned much of this information as they were beginning work this morning.

Town of Seneca is pleased to announce that we are doing the Tree Program again this year. Just like last year, the trees will be BARE ROOT trees.

Each variety is available in limited quantity on a first come, first serve basis. Applicants will be advised at time of sign-up if any variety is unavailable.

Applicants will be given a flag to place in the ground on their property where they would like the tree planted. All trees are to be in the front yard of your property but off the town right-of-way. All tree locations will be reviewed and approved by the Town Highway and Water Departments.

*PLEASE NOTE* Your flag MUST be visible to our Highway employees in order to be promptly planted. Ongoing maintenance will be the property owner's responsibility. All trees must be planted within Town limits. Being bare root trees, they will need to be checked and watered every other day for the first month if dry.

Stop by to fill out a form in-person or give us a call if you'd like a tree from us!

Trees Offered this year: Crimson King Maple, Red Sunset Maple, Crimson Cloud Hawthorn, Adirondack Crabapple, & Ornamental Cherry.
