Ain’t nothing [like] a hound dog! Meet Scooter, a beautiful beagle boy! This mellow ol’ man, who’s about 14 years, was adopted from us 10 years ago and found his way back into our care because his owner is now in a nursing home and unable to house him there. He is a bit hard of hearing and doesn’t see as well as he used to but he is sweet, and gentle as can be with treats and cuddles. He would do best in a quiet home where he is the only dog. His favorite thing is to lean into you and get a good ol’ knuckle rub in his ears and a good nap. His eyes and ears may not be what they used to be but his nose sure is and enjoys a good chance for sniffs. If you are looking for a great, calm and mellow companion who is happy to chill and snooze nearby, Scooter is your guy! Come meet Scooter today!

Clyde! Clyde is a sweet senior boy with a teddy bear nubbin tail that waggles clockwise like a propeller! He has a sweet smile and loves a good breezy afternoon. His favorite activity is a casual stroll with lots of sniffs and just relaxing with his favorite person. Like everyone's favorite gramps he’s a little hard of hearing so doesn’t like to be snuck up on but he loves people and is content to hang and get pets. This is the second time sweet Clyde has come through these doors so we are really hoping to find Clyde his furrever home. This sweet barrel of love deserves a home that he can relax in and get a nice sniff filled stroll. He seems to do ok with other mellow dogs. He is neutered. If you are looking for a low key and loyal companion that will surely lift your heart and spirits with his goofy helicopter waggle and warm smile, come meet our fella Clyde!

Meet Handsome Homer! This sweet fella came to us as a stray and has been the sweetest boy since he arrived. There is nothing quite like a ‘Homer Hug’! He loves to gently lean into you and is so content to cuddle. Homer definitely looks like he had it rough but you would never know from his sweet disposition. While we don’t know a lot about Homer’s past, the vets tell us he is about 7 years old. He has been recently neutered, gets along well with other dogs so far, and has been very sweet and gentle with the kids he has met. Homer deserves a home where he can get walks with good sniffs and someone he can cuddle up against. He gets a little nervous with thunder storms but it just means his ‘Homer Hugs’ are just that much better. Come meet this beautiful brown-eyed boy with ears as soft and floppy as his disposition. If you are looking for a best friend, it’s Homer!

🚨Found dog🚨 Do you recognize this beagle. He was found in Luray on 340 Business North. Deputies took him to the emergency vet last night for an injury. He is here at the shelter. Please reach out if you recognize him.

This blue tick c**n hound has been with us several days. We are posting him again in hopes of finding his owner. If you recognize, please reach out. He was found with a tracking collar and we got the collar working again, but unless it is satellite, I doubt the receiver is picking it up. **nhound

🎉Reunited with owner🎉

🚨Found Cat🚨This handsome fella showed up at my house near the library and Inn Lawn Park area of Luray about 3 days ago. He’s very social, has been neutered and has a bite wound on his neck that is healing. I took him to the vet a couple days ago and had him checked over. He received an antibiotic shot and rabies vaccination.
I’m reaching out to see if anyone has reported missing a cat like him. Vets says he’s about 2 years old.

🐾This cat is not at the shelter, but if you recognize contact the shelter and we will put you in touch with the person who has him.🐾

🥳🥳🥳Adoption day for Max!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 We love Max and will miss him here at the shelter but we are so glad he is heading to his furever home. He is such a sweet boy who loves every dog and human he meets. Congratulations to Max and his new family.
