4-H Youth Are Beyond Ready

From fairgrounds to classrooms, community gardens to robotics labs, 4-H youth in Powell County are proving they’re not just ready for the future – they’re Beyond Ready.

As America’s largest youth development organization, 4-H empowers 6 million young people nationwide with hands-on learning experiences through clubs, camps, school programs, and community events. Through the Beyond Ready initiative, 4-H will help prepare 10 million youth for work and life by 2030.

We would like to thank Powell County Judge Executive Eddie Barnes for declaring this week, 4-H week in Powell County by signing a proclamation for the Beyond Ready initiative.

Today is “Give Like Dolly” Day! In support of our Powell County’s Imagination Library program, please look for donation boxes around our community and give as you can! Several of our counties will be playing host to the RRGMTB100 bicycle race tomorrow. The event begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 8 p.m. and the course includes several state routes in Powell, Menifee, Wolfe, and Lee counties. Routes include portions of KY 1057, KY 11/KY 15, KY 77 (including the Nada Tunnel), KY 613, KY 599, KY 713, KY 715, KY 498, and KY 1036.
