We could give thanks a hundred times and it would not be enough to express our most sincere gratitude to Caryl Hackett and the 100 Women Who Care in Montcalm County for their generous donation of over $17,000 to the Montcalm Dolly Parton Imagination Library. This literacy program was selected as the 2026 recipient of these funds which will be allocated to providing books for our youngest learners in the Montcalm County area. In this program, books are mailed monthly to almost 1,400 children ages 0-4 years old who are currently enrolled. While the books are free to those children and their families, there is a cost of $36 per child per year to support the program. Montcalm Area ISD is incredibly grateful for our partners and community sponsors for their generous donations. To learn more about the program, contact Mindy Train at [email protected] or call 616-225-6150.

This is a fantastic podcast with Nate McClennen featuring our very own MAISD Associate Superintendent Dr. Adel DiOrio discussing the vision of "How Can We Lead Away From Fragmentation and Towards Coherence?" In this episode of the Getting Smart Podcast, Nate and Adel explore how school leaders can move from fragmented initiatives to real coherence through knowledge management, transformational leadership, and coaching. Drawing on her research in rural school systems and insights from The Coach’s Playbook, Adel shares why documenting what works, building strong relationships, and leading with intention are essential to sustaining improvement over time. From the power of “if you think it, ink it” to the life-changing influence of coaches and leaders, this conversation offers practical wisdom for principals, superintendents, teachers, and anyone working to build stronger, more human-centered schools.
