Montcalm CASA provides trained volunteers to be a voice for abused and neglected children in the juvenile justice system by providing advocacy for their needs and ensuring a permanent home.
In March 2002, community leaders from Montcalm County Juvenile Court, Montcalm Human Services Coalition and concerned citizens convened for the first time to create a CASA program in Montcalm County. In 2003, the Montcalm CASA Advisory Board was formed and it secured a Program Coordinator and by August 2004, the first volunteer was assigned a case. Today, more than 60 children’s voices have been heard through the advocacy of the Montcalm CASA Program.
Mission: Montcalm CASA provides trained volunteers to be a voice for abused and neglected children in the juvenile justice system by providing advocacy for their needs and ensuring a permanent home.

Happy Retirement to someone who has done so much to help children in our community!
Mary Ellen Clery, executive director of WCFK Council, has been with us for the past five years. We are very sad to announce her resignation. She has been a tremendous leader, a true champion for children, and she has made our presence in the community much more well known. We will miss her greatly and wish her the best as she begins to enjoy life as a grandma! Mary Ellen Clery

This is such a wonderful reminder that CASA's are still out there trying to connect with kids, in ways that matter. We're all anxious for face to face visits, with the kids we serve, to be deemed safe again. Until then, we'll continue to adapt.
There are concerns child abuse could be on the rise with kids at home instead of school, but we might not know about it.

" I really appreciate the 3rd Meals program. I see how anxious some of my students get towards the end of the day knowing that they are going home to environments that may not have the basic necessities.I know these meals make a world of difference to our students and I am grateful for the generosity of the community and their on-going support of this program. It truly makes a difference"...5th grade teacher

We have a second chance to have CASA funding restored! Please respond to this action alert. The governor and our legislators need to know how important it is that children in foster care need someone who will make sure they do not fall through the cracks of a system that unfortunately is broken. Agencies intended to keep children safe, physically and mentally, fall woefully short. And when a successful program begins to gain traction, funding to expand it across the state is kneecapped by Lansing politics.
This week we're honoring CASA Volunteer Supervisor, Stephanie Barone. Thank you for all you do and all you give for our program Stephanie!
