⚠️Wilson County’s Southeast and Southwest Water Districts are now under Stage 2, Mandatory Reductions I of the Wilson County Water Shortage Response Plan due to the continued severe drought conditions. NOTE: This does not include City of Wilson, NC - Government water customers.
Here’s what this means and we need everyone’s help:
🔴 Restrictions are no longer voluntary
🔴 Reduce your water use by about 10% compared to last month’s usage;
🔴 Limit lawn and landscape irrigation to ½” per week between 8PM and 8AM
🔴 No washing of driveways or sidewalks
🔴 All testing and training purposes requiring drinking water (e.g. fire protection) will be limited
While not mandatory, we recommend that you don’t wash personal vehicles at home at this time. It’s been several years since we‘ve had a drought this severe and we’re asking everyone to do what they can to make it less severe by being conscious of water use and limiting it as much as possible. These steps help protect our water supply for what matters most. Is it inconvenient? Absolutely. However, it is necessary since no one can control Mother Nature. https://www.wilsoncountync.gov/Home/Components/News/News/785/16
