Friends, please be careful with outdoor burning. Temperatures like we have today create a deadly environment for firefighting, especially when it could be prevented. Even more concerning is wind and dry conditions.

If you need shower facilities because of the water outage in Adamsville, please contact us. We will make our facilities available. Comment on the post or message.

Shelia served as our dispatcher before the McNairy 911 opened. Her page out always included “Be careful out there.”

On this Memorial Day, a question has come to mind: Who are those from the Stantonville area who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country? Is there a listing that exists anywhere? Do we know where they are interred?

I’m aware of:
Jr. Hill—-Vietnam
Floyd Walker— WW2
______ Tedford—-WW2
______ Hurley —-WW2

If you have information regarding others, please put them in the comments.

Respect those propane tanks! Don't bring them into your home during power outages, don't put them into the passenger compartment or trunk of your car.
(BTW, your local propane dealer can help you set up a safe supply line system to heat using portable tanks. Not the best scenario, but....)

OUCH.
I mean … OUCH.
You know how some people in the passenger seat of a car sometimes put their feet up on the dashboard to relax?
Full disclosure: I’ve done it.
But, no more.
Not after firefighters in Wartrace, TN posted this x-ray of a car crash victim’s damaged hip.
The firefighters write:
—-
And this ladies and gentleman is why you keep your feet off of the dashboard while riding in a car.
Airbags deploy at 100-220 mph.
—-
If that speeding airbag hits your hips at an awkward angle, well you’re going to be in a world of pain.
Dislocated hip and more.
OUCH.

Please be careful burning debris. Be aware of wind speed and direction. Make plans to stay with your fire until it burns out.
