In the past, our Friends of the Library group has participated in the Stanwood Camano Parade. Sadly,our aging group has no one to carry on this tradition. Would you and/or your family/friends like to join this annual event to help promote our wonderful library? We need someone to step up and volunteer. The parade is held the first Saturday in August. If interested please call 360 618 3889 and speak to a friend. Thank you.

A sincere Thank You to all book store owners and patrons who attended the Friends of the Library Book Sale last weekend. Your generosity has once again guaranteed that we can provide programs for our children to enjoy at the Stanwood Library. Thank You also to all our members for all their work making this a most successful sale.

The Friends of the Library annual book sale is being held on May 19, 20 & 21. Please stop by the Stanwood Library during the weekend to purchase inexpensive books for your home or school classroom.

Stanwood Friends of the Library is having their annual Book Sale next month. If you have books sitting on shelves that you no longer want, please consider donating them to your community library. We do not accept water damaged, torn, mildewed or smoke laden books. Do some Spring cleaning and take your good quality books to our library.

The Friends had their first meeting of the year yesterday. Our core of strong library supporters, aka members, were in attendance. We welcomed guests, Twyla Mulvaney, Jennifer Kelly, and Linda Norbach and hope to see them sign up for membership In October. We will hold a Membership Drive Oct 16 - 22. Membership dues are $5.00/year with discounted fee of $2.00 if joining as a senior (60+ yrs).

The Stanwood Friends of the Library would like to extend an open invitation to interested library users, supporters of all things books, or curiosity seekers to come to our first meeting for the 2016-17 year. Come see what the Friends of the Library does for our community. We will meet on Tuesday at 11:00 am on Sept. 13th in the Community Room in our library. If your new to our community, a stay at home parent needing adult interaction or just someone looking for a special niche,
come visit our group. You'll be both surprised and delighted by what we do behind the scenes within our library.

Stanwood FOL sponsored over 250 children's programs this past year.
Hats off to our librarians for all their hard work and to our community for supporting their efforts. After all, children are the only future our human race has!

Stanwood Friends is recruiting new volunteers to assist with projects for our library. Some projects take as little as a few minutes twice a week while others may ask for donations of your time during one specific month of the year.
