This evening, we held our April meeting, with 20 departments in attendance, reporting 3,045 for the month of March. We thank Jernigan and EMS for hosting and sponsoring the meeting and Posey of @1-800-BoardUp of Mobile Metro for preparing the meal.

Monday nights at Stapleton Volunteer Fire Department are for training! We took a break from the Firemanship Essentials class to do some hands on! We were fortunate to have a controlled burn to train on! Truck operations, hose handling, flowing water are all fundamentals that you can’t practice enough! 💦We even had our Explorer out there training! Teach them young and they will be the next generation of volunteer firefighters! ❤️🚒 credit Paula Cranny!

Yesterday we had a “controlled burn” in Stapleton that got out of hand and was threatening a home. I got a few pictures but it was well after the fire was contained. I just want to thank those of you that showed up and helped! It was hot and messy, but ya’ll got the job done and made it happen! Chuck and I appreciate you all so much! Justin Cartee, Falisha Cartee, Tom Cox, Brad Andre, Jay Miller. Helping our community is what it is all about!🚒❤️

I just can’t let the day go by without thanking the community of Stapleton for coming out and supporting the Volunteer Fire Department! It was a joy to be able to celebrate the 50th year of the department!

We couldn’t have done it without all of our board members and fire fighters behind the scenes. Our friends from Stockton always show up and help in the best way!The door prizes were amazing, the food was great and the fellowship even better! 🫶🏻

It was an honor to Celebrate Roger Cunningham’s 45 years of service! We will miss him, but if I know Roger, he will be stopping by from time to time! 💙

We also want to extend our congratulations to Support Personnel of the Year, Falisha Cartee and our Fire Fighter of the year, Nick Roussos! We are super proud of them along with the rest of the team who show up and give of their time and talents without hesitation!

Lastly, I want to say how proud I am of my husband, best friend and Fire Chief, Chuck Hicks! When he took on this position, he put his head down and his heart in and hasn’t looked up! He spends countless hours of his off time learning, collaborating and working to make our Volunteer Fire Department the best it can be! We know growth will not happen over night, but we are here for it!

Thank you to everyone who made today so special! Come join is on Monday nights at 6pm if you are interested in being a part of this selfless group of volunteers!
