A great way to celebrate Earth Day! Come tour the renovations at Riverwood Nature Center. We’ve spent the past 10 months renovating and repurposing the 100-year-old Utgaard Chicken Hatchery into the future home of Riverwood’s Visitor & Interpretive Center. The Interpretive Center will be built out to include cultural and historical information relating to the Apple River Watershed. Over the coming year, we will create exhibits and artifact displays designed to educate and connect people to nature and the environment. North Pole UPDATE! Santa's sleigh is right on course for arriving in Star Prairie at Noon today! Visit with jolly old St. Nick from noon to 2pm at Riverwood Nature Center's Christmas House (218 1st Street). Tell Santa your Christmas wishes, and grab a photo and a bag of treats. Hot cocoa, coffee, apple cide,r and a big sweet tray of cookies await in Riverwood's River Revival Thrift Store too! Unfortunately, Jack Frost hitched a ride and brought this frigid weather, so the hayride portion of Santa's visit has been cancelled. No frost bite for any of the good boys and girls on Santa's list!

Santa's bringing some Ho-Ho-Holiday Cheer to Star Prairie! Mark your calendars for a visit with Santa at Riverwood Nature Center on Saturday, December 13th | 12-Noon to 2pm. Share a wish with Santa and get a goodie bag of treats. Bundle up for a hayride and then warm up with a cup of hot cocoa or cider! This free and fun family event is sponsored by the Star Prairie Community Club, Riverwood Nature Center, and the Friendly Bar. Donations to the local Food Shelf would be appreciated!
