What you hear when you go to recess with K-4 kids:

1. My dad knows all of you, he speeds a lot.

2. My dad doesn’t like cops, apparently he forgot to show up for court.

3. My mom only wears her seatbelt when she sees cops and then she says cuss words

There were others but not all were appropriate for Facebook.

What we will share is this, these students greeted officers with high fives, smiles and hugs.

For some it may be there only time in a police car, for others it may be their first but no matter what everyone had a great experience.

Earlier today, some visitors to State Center were working on cleaning up a property in town and made a poor choice to put someone else's left behind belongings in a ditch alongside the road.

These visitors quickly became aware of the vigilant neighbor who took some pictures and videos and with some assistance from our own technology, the visitors were identified, contacted and promptly returned to State Center to clean up their mess.

These visitors were young and learned a valuable lesson, respect other people's property, especially in State Center. Neighbors take care of each other here.
