The Borough of State College Parking Department will NOT lift the “No Parking 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.” and the one- and two-hour restrictions for the upcoming football weekend.
**Vehicles parked in these zones in excess of the one- or two-hour limit must have a valid R1, R, or commuter permit or a paid parking session through the HONK Mobile app.**
Overnight permissions will be suspended, and any overnight requests will require a valid R permit or a paid parking session through HONK.
Please note: the special event weekend pilot program that requires payment in the Highlands, Holmes-Foster, and College Heights neighborhoods begins Saturday, September 5.
** Payment will be required from 2 a.m. through 6 a.m. Sunday only**
You can pre-pay for your session if you arrive Friday evening beginning at 6 p.m. on September 4.
HONK Zone 4217 will open and will display this message: "Prepay-Sat Sep 5 -2 a.m. Through Saturday Midnight Only. Payment Required."
Reminder: If you have a Residential Permit, no additional payment is required. If you have a Residential Permit, or make payment, you may park during the No Parking 2 a.m.-6 p.m. period in the signed areas.
The “No Parking 2 a.m.-6 a.m.” ordinance will not be lifted, and general parking permissions will not be granted on weekends in which the pilot program is active.
Lawn parking will not be permitted.
Please note that Pennsylvania Vehicle Code Violations will be strictly enforced:
• No parking on the sidewalk
• No parking within an intersection
• No parking on a crosswalk
• No parking within 20 feet of crosswalk at an intersection
• No parking within 30 feet of a stop sign
• No parking more than 12 inches from the curb
• No parking against traffic
• No parking in front of a driveway
• No parking anytime
• No parking in areas designated as an official bus stop or as a loading and unloading zone
Cars in violation of any of these parking rules will be subject to ticketing and towing. All other non-PA Vehicle Code Violations will be strictly enforced, as well. On-street parking meters and parking lots are enforced from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
