I came to work today, still feeling a heavy sadness about the loss of Dolly Parton, but ready to start the week and be present.🤓

I got online to check the Imagination Library page for Centre County to find 132 new registrations. And while I was happy to see more kiddos and families interested in being in the program, my heart sank because we can't accepet them all due to lack of funding. 😩 The waitlist begins.

We currently have 1,523 active children in the program...increasing to 1655 means an increase of appx $316 a month. It might not sound alike a lot but each month we have more kids wanting to enroll.

Through Centre County Women United, members pool their generosity and collectively decide where their dollars can make an impact—supporting local projects aligned with implementing new or expanding projects, programs, or services that support women and children in Centre County.

Since its inception, Women United has invested more than $194,000 into projects throughout Centre County—and every grant represents something bigger than a check.

Today, we lost a true force for good.

Dolly Parton gave the world extraordinary music, plenty of laughter, and a whole lot of sparkle. But she also gave millions of children something that can change the course of a life: books.

Dolly showed us that generosity doesn’t have to be complicated to be transformational. Find something that matters. Do something about it. And keep doing it.

Her music will live on. Her kindness will live on. And every time another little blue-and-white Imagination Library package arrives in a mailbox, a little bit of Dolly will live on, too.

Thank you, Dolly, for believing in children, believing in the power of books, the potential of every child, and the difference one person can make.
