Thank you to our kindergarten Lion Cubs who joined us for Kindergarten Football Night on Friday. It was a perfect night under the lights!! 🏈 🍂

Three new pedestrian signals with flashing beacons have been installed along Brandywine Drive between the Fieldstone neighborhood and MNMS and MNE. The District partnered with College Township to install these crossing features to help keep our students, employees, and the broader community safe.

Important Safety Reminder: The flashing lights only turn on when the button is pressed. Please remind your children to press the button to activate the lights, look both ways, and wait until traffic has come to a complete stop before crossing.

We appreciate your help in encouraging our students to use these crosswalks properly.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS 🎊 to one of our own. Mrs. Hovis! Thanks Mrs. Smitka for the nomination!

Congratulations to this weeks happy valley hero Carrie Hovis

The story submitted by The Smitka Family:

What is a hero? She is someone who is caring, kind, and expects the best from every child that she teaches. Mrs. Hovis is an amazing 4th grade teacher at Mount Nittany Elementary school. If you ask any child that has been in her class, her impact is immense. She has the ability to reach every student in a special way. I know we have all had one or two amazing teachers. She is a one in a million teacher. I doubt that she will ever forget about her students. Her heart is one of the biggest I've ever seen. She is an unsung hero every day for so many people!

And just like that...we're back!

Our first day of school was filled with smiles, new beginnings, and so much JOY! From the beautiful welcome created by our PTO, to classroom games, self-portraits, laughter, and even a little dance party, our Lion Cubs jumped right back into the heart of what makes our school so special.

The first day is always full of excitement, a few nerves, lots of learning, and plenty of memories in the making. We are so grateful to our amazing staff, our supportive families, and—most of all—our students for making today such a wonderful start to a new school year.

Welcome back, Lion Cubs! Here’s to an incredible year together!
