The Ferguson Township Police Department consists of 22 sworn, full time staff, 1 part time Ordinance Enforcement Officer and 2 Administrative Assistants. Sworn staff consists of the Chief, 4 Sergeants, 2 Corporals, 11 Patrol Officers, and 4 Detectives. The Police Department responds to all 9-1-1 emergency calls as well a
s non-emergency police calls, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. More than 4,800 calls for service were answered in 2018. FTPD is a fully-accredited police department, and has been since May 24, 2017, through the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Program of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association. This rigorous accreditation process requires law enforcement agencies to adhere to near 440 standards, codes and state-of-the-art practices. On August 4, 2020, the FTPD proudly received their certificate of re-accreditation for a term of three-years.
