s you, the expectant parent, explore the options of adoption and parenting that will provide for your children to grow up in loving, stable homes. Our Adoption Services:
Domestic Infant Adoption- Bethany places hundreds of babies each year into loving homes. We are committed to serving children born with special needs (e.g., addicted to a controlled substance or with physical or mental impairments) as well as those born without such challenges. Older Child Adoption:
More than 120,000 foster children in the U.S. These children have been removed from their families due to abuse and/or neglect and can no longer return home. They are what many consider "modern-day orphans" because they need new parents to love and care for them. Bethany is committed to finding permanent homes for these children who need a family. Foster Care:
Thousands of children enter foster care each year because of abuse and/or neglect. For their safety, the courts have removed these children from their birth families and placed them in the custody of the state. This system serves children of all races from birth to age 17. Foster care is meant to be a temporary solution while parents resolve the problems that resulted in their children being removed from their care. Bethany recruits and trains families to provide loving, safe, temporary homes for these vulnerable children. Our Post-Adoption (Post-Permanency) Services:
PA'S Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN) Services are available through Bethany Christian Services. These services are for any type of adoption and are free of charge to any PA adoptive family with children who are 17 or younger. The 3 main services provided are:
-Case advocacy in which a case advocate communicates with the family by providing support
-Respite service which provides parents a break through Bethany-approved providers that care for the children while the family is away. Respite can occur in the family's own home or outside the home. Respite funds may also be used for summer camp programs and other family-oriented resources, which ultimately help to strength and preserve adoptive placements.
-Support group services are psycho-educational and designed to ensure that families are supported by building relationships with other families, forming a community of support and mentoring.

On April 27th at the HUB-Robeson Center- Heritage Hall, State College Bethany hosted a speaking appearance with MTV's "16 and Pregnant" & "Teen Mom" stars Catelynn and Tyler. Catelynn and Tyler did a great job connecting with students in our local community and answering any questions they had about teen parenting, adoption, and the services Bethany provides.
