September is Hunger Action Month, a national moment when communities everywhere raise awareness and take steps against hunger.

Our mission here never really pauses. One day, no one will go hungry in this community. This month simply gives us a chance to reinforce this and rally our neighbors who are passionate about it.

If this mission speaks to you, we would be so grateful if you shared this post. Every share helps more neighbors know we are here.

Imagine a night out where the music is great, and the impact is even better.

Every ticket to our Benefit Concert helps stock our shelves and keep our grocery-style pantry running for the households who count on us here in Centre County. About 85% of the food we provide comes directly from local generosity like yours, which means your support truly stays close to home.

If you know someone who would love a night that gives back, we would be so grateful if you brought them along. Learn more and grab your tickets at https://thestatetheatre.org/events/a-great-big-world-2026/?occurrence=2026-09-14.

School may be out for the summer, but hunger doesn't take a vacation.

Summer is one of the most challenging times of the year for food banks. As children lose access to free and reduced-price school meals, more families turn to us for help. At the same time, community food donations traditionally slow down.

You can help change that.

Whether you're part of a business, faith community, neighborhood, sports team, civic organization, or simply a group of friends, consider hosting a summer food drive to help keep our pantry shelves stocked.

Every food drive—big or small—helps ensure that our neighbors have access to nutritious food when they need it most.

Interested in organizing a drive? Please visit our Food Drive page to register your drive and find loads of helpful tips!

🥣 Urgent Need: Cereal! 🥣

Help us fill our shelves—and our neighbors' bowls—with cereal!

A simple bowl of cereal provides a great start to the day, gives kids and adults the energy they need, and even makes a quick, satisfying snack. It's one of the most requested pantry staples, and right now, our shelves are running low.

The next time you're grocery shopping, please consider picking up an extra box to donate. Every donation helps fill a bowl with nourishment, comfort, and a little happiness.

Thank you for helping feed our community! ❤️

🌽🥒 Got a garden that's producing more than you can use? We'd love to share your harvest with our neighbors! 🍅🥕🍆

Did you know the State College Food Bank accepts donations of homegrown produce? Fresh fruits and vegetables are always appreciated by the families we serve, and your garden can make a real difference in helping provide healthy, nutritious food throughout our community.

To help ensure your donation is safe and enjoyable for our clients, we ask that you follow a few simple guidelines:

🌱 Aim for market quality. Please donate produce that is fresh and free from bolting, splitting, or severe damage.

🌱 Follow product directions. If you've used fertilizers, pesticides, or other garden chemicals, please be sure you've followed all label instructions before harvesting.

🌱 Wash your produce. Rinse away soil, insects, and garden debris before bringing it to the Food Bank.

🌱 Hand your donation to a staff member or volunteer. Please bring produce during our regular donation hours or arrange an appointment. Because freshly harvested produce is especially delicate, please do not leave it in our 24-hour donation room, where insects and fluctuating temperatures can quickly affect its quality.

Every tomato, zucchini, cucumber, pepper, and ear of corn helps provide fresh, nutritious options for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Thank you for growing with generosity and helping nourish our community! ❤️
