🧡Today, BP Vito Fossella and Mary Pat joined their friends Barbara and Billy D’Amora, as well as their children, Christian and Natalie, at Annadale Green to cut the ribbon on a new bench dedicated to the loving memory of their son, Nicholas.

A beautiful tribute to Nicholas and the lasting impact he had on so many. May his memory continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.

The City Department of Transportation will be conducting daytime paving at the following locations this week:

Monday:
-- Clermont Place between Victory Boulevard and North Gannon Avenue; Gansevoort Boulevard between Victory Boulevard and North Gannon Avenue

Tuesday:
-- Gansevoort Boulevard between Victory Boulevard and North Gannon Avenue; South Greenleaf Avenue between Goodell Avenue and Victory Boulevard

Wednesday:
-- Raymond Avenye between Crowell Avenue and Victory Boulevard; Amador Street between Amity Place and South Avenue

Thursday:
-- Amador Street between Amity Place and South Avenue

Friday:
-- Lisk Avenue between Amity Place and South Avenue

🗑 Borough Hall’s Litter Liaisons are back in action, cleaning Staten Island’s streets and open spaces.

In July, they were joined by On Your Mark in filling 17 large bags of trash along Wemple Street from South Avenue to Mersereau Avenue.

Last month, our interns filled eight bags of trash on South Railroad Avenue from Guyon Avenue to Montreal Avenue.

They cleared leaves out of sewer grates and picked up discarded tires, empty drink bottles, a car bumper and general household trash bags.

We mourn the loss of a true American legend, Dolly Parton.

Born into a one-room cabin as one of 12 children, Dolly rose from humble beginnings to become an American icon. Her talent was unmatched, but it was her kindness, compassion and generosity that made her so beloved.

Our condolences are with her family, friends and all who loved her. May she rest in peace. 🇺🇸

Borough President Vito Fossella and Mary Pat Fossella were happy to join their friends Barbara and Billy D’Amora for the ribbon-cutting and grand opening of the CrimsonRise Nicholas D’Amora Center in Sunnyside.

Nick D'Amora, known as “The Changer,” learned to communicate using a method called “Spelling to Communicate.” Though he couldn’t speak, he became a powerful advocate and an inspiration for non-verbal autistic individuals.

Nick founded CrimsonRise with Tejas Rao Sankar, William Jusino and Cristofer Puleo to teach non-verbal individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder how to use spelling as a means to communicate effectively.

The CrimsonRise Nicholas D’Amora Center will carry Nick’s legacy and inspiration of helping non-verbal autistic individuals find their voice and their community.

BP Vito Fossella stopped by the Michael J. Petrides School, where the auditorium’s original 1960s seating is being replaced with brand-new chairs for students, families and the entire Panther Nation!
