On Saturday, October 4, from 12 PM to 8 PM, SIUH Community Park (home of the FerryHawks) will host a full day of:
✅ Food & beer
✅ Live music & entertainment
✅ Local vendors & shopping
✅ Carnival rides, games & family fun
🎆 Fireworks at 7:30 PM

🎟 Tickets: $10 general admission | Free for veterans
🚗 Free parking

The event is presented by the Rotary Clubs of Staten Island and Rolling Thunder Chapter 2 NY, in memory of Bernard Del Rey, with proceeds supporting veterans in need. 🇺🇸

🏈💪 HealthFest 2025 is happening this Friday, Sept. 26, 2–7 PM at SIUH Community Park! Free health screenings, raffles, healthy food tastings, and meet NFL legends — don’t miss it!

Borough President Vito Fossella invites Staten Islanders to HealthFest 2025, which will offer free health screenings, resources, activities, and appearances by NFL legends at SIUH Community Park on Friday, Sept. 26, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

HealthFest 2025 will include free blood pressure, health and mental health screenings; a Health Passport for attendees who complete screenings with chances to win raffles; free merchandise and signed memorabilia; more than 30 vendors; education on concussion injuries and injury prevention offered by experts from Northwell/SIUH orthopedic and surgical teams; healthy food tastings; games, and opportunities to win free haircuts from participating barbershop partners.

There will also be free EKG, Narcan, Stop the Bleed and CPR training.

Attendees will have the chance to meet NFL greats, take photos, join Q&A sessions, and receive signed memorabilia from the following:

Roman Obenorme: Former offensive tackle (Buccaneers), Super Bowl ###VII Champion and current NFL Vice President of Football Development
Eric Olsen: Former NFL offensive lineman (Broncos, Washington, Saints)
Kyle Richardson: Former Ravens punter and Super Bowl ###V Champion
Jay Alford: Former Giants defensive tackle and Super Bowl XLII Champion.

-- Monday: Commerce Street from Fieldstone Road to Arelene Street
-- Tuesday: Commerce Street from Fieldstone Road to Arelene Street; Eton Place from Dead End to Richmond Avenue
-- Wednesday: Saybrook Street from Victory Boulevard to Croft Place; Goller Place from Victory Boulevard to Croft Place
-- Thursday: Goller Place from Victory Boulevard to Croft Place; South Railroad Avenue from Tysens Lane to Beach Avenue
-- Friday: South Railroad Avenue from Tysens Lane to Beach Avenue; Behan Court from Beach Avenue to Amboy Road; Belfast Avenue from Amboy Road to Dalton Avenue

🗑️ NYC Bin Rebate Coming for Homeowners 🏠

Mayor Eric Adams, Acting DSNY Commissioner Javier Lojan, and DOF Commissioner Preston Niblack just announced automatic rebate checks for many homeowners to cover the cost of the official NYC Bin.

👉 What to Know:

One- and two-family homeowners receiving STAR or E-STAR will automatically get a $59.30 check in the mail.

Checks will go out in the coming weeks — no application needed.

Already bought your NYC Bin? You’ll still get the rebate.

Haven’t bought one yet? You’ll get instructions to purchase and still receive the rebate.

Deadline: June 2026 — all homes must use the official rat-resistant NYC Bin.

This is part of the city’s ongoing “Trash Revolution” to move garbage off sidewalks, cut down on rats, and make neighborhoods cleaner and healthier. 🌱
