We need your help!

Beginning July 1, we're required by state law to have a registry of all Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) in the county.

It includes businesses, churches, schools, public buildings and more. It's designed to help 911 dispatchers, public safety agencies and first responders local nearby AED's in the case of an emergency.

If your business, church, or other location has at least one AED, please take the time to fill out the form and and add it to our registry.

Good early morning! Conditions become increasingly unsettled from early this afternoon through late tonight as a cold front stalls across southeast Georgia. This will yield widespread showers and thunderstorms, with multiple rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall throughout the period. The greatest risk for excessive rainfall will likely remain over the I-16 corridor between the City of Savannah and Metter, GA. Flood Advisories and Flash Flood Warnings may be needed for portions of southeast Georgia later today.

Hurricane Response Planning

This morning, members of the public safety and public works teams from Bulloch County and City of Statesboro met with Courtney Markell from the National Weather Serivce’s Charleston SC center and Kerry Futch from Georgia Emergency Management Agency to discuss the 2026 Hurricane season. They discussed the season forecast (8-14 named storms expected, 3-6 to reach hurricane level and 1-3 major hurricanes), small changes to how NWS will project storm cones, and the levels of response communities should have as storms approach.

By the same token, now is the time for you to prepare as well.

Before a storm approaches….
Do you have enough basic food, water, prescription meds, flashlights, cell phone power supplies to sustain you and your family for three days?

If your home would not be structurally safe during a storm, do you have a relative or friend who would let you plan to rush to their home before a storm hit?

As hurricane season heightens, we’ll bring you information on preparing and where you can get up to the minute storm projections and more.

It’s never too early to prepare!
