Bulloch VOAD

Bulloch VOAD Bulloch VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) This page was established in to help in Bulloch County's response to Hurricane Matthew.

As part of the communities efforts during Matthew a group of local citizens have worked with FEMA, GEMA and Bulloch EOC to establish Bulloch VOAD (Volunteers Organized to be Activated in a Disaster) With this new structure we have changed the page name to reflect the new organization. This page will served as a central point to provide information in the event of a mass disaster in our community.

It will also serve as a central point for relative public safety information outside of a disaster. You will find community volunteer opportunities along with pertinent information regarding agencies in our community.

Many individuals asked how to support on-going fire relief efforts in Bulloch County with the Buie Driggers Road fire. We have a couple of options to support this detailed below.

On Friday, July 24, 2026, the Bulloch County Agricultural Complex opened boarding operations to support equine owners who needed to evacuate due to the proximity of the fire on Buie Driggers Road. Approximately 45 horses have been safely located at the Ag Complex during this time.

In support of this initiative and to potentially reduce expenses for equine owners and county operations, Bulloch Strong is establishing a fund specifically to receive financial donations to support the expenses from the Bulloch County Agricultural complex. All donations received to this fund will support the current and future animal welfare needs in disaster operations in Bulloch County.
