Bulloch VOAD

Bulloch VOAD Bulloch VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) This page was established in to help in Bulloch County's response to Hurricane Matthew.

As part of the communities efforts during Matthew a group of local citizens have worked with FEMA, GEMA and Bulloch EOC to establish Bulloch VOAD (Volunteers Organized to be Activated in a Disaster) With this new structure we have changed the page name to reflect the new organization. This page will served as a central point to provide information in the event of a mass disaster in our community.

It will also serve as a central point for relative public safety information outside of a disaster. You will find community volunteer opportunities along with pertinent information regarding agencies in our community.

🌀 It's the start of Hurricane Preparedness Week!

The first step of preparing for hurricanes is to know your risk. Find out today what types of water and wind hazards could happen where you live. Hurricanes are not just a coastal problem. Impacts from wind and water can be felt hundreds of miles inland, and significant impacts can occur regardless of the storm’s strength. Know if you live in an area prone to flooding, if you live in an evacuation zone, and identify any structural weaknesses in your home.

Yesterday our neighbors needed us and we deployed. Providing water, gatorade and food to over 150 firefighters and public safety personnel at a major fire in Emanuel County. Special thanks to Statesboro Food Lion, Statesboro Little Caesars on Northside Drive for your donations and VOAD Chair Frank Davis for coordinating this response. What a remarkable display of community and neighbor helping neighbor. Prayers to the Hadden family.

A large-scale firefighting operation is underway east of Swainsboro following a fire that began Wednesday afternoon at a local junkyard. Crews from Emanuel County, Bulloch County, Statesboro, and several other surrounding areas have converged to battle the intense flames.

Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia has shared a Bulloch County partner agency spotlight highlighting organizations providing essential food resources to families in need. These are in addition to the monthly food drops coordinated by Feed the Boro whose next drop is on February 28.

Our Partner Agency Spotlight Series continues for #5 of the series!

Every Wednesday, we highlight partner agencies open to the public across the 21 counties we serve—sharing where families and individuals can access food resources close to home.
