The Southeast Bulloch Middle School National FFA Organization Chapter (FFA) has received a Two-Star ranking as part of the National FFA Organization's 2026 Chapter Award Program.

Less than 10% of school chapters nationwide receive a star ranking. This recognizes that Southeast Bulloch's middle school chapter advisor and members are actively and effectively implementing the mission and strategies of the national organization. It also demonstrates that the chapter has successfully improved its operations and program activities based on national standards and that its activities provide leadership and educational value for student members.

"This is truly a mark of exceptionalism," said Lexi Hunter, the school's Ag Education teacher and FFA faculty advisor. "Our chapter is also one of only 42 of the state's 391 FFA chapters to be designated as a Gold Emblem Chapter by the Georgia FFA Organization, and only 11 of those are middle school chapters."

Hunter and the chapter's members will travel to Indianapolis this fall to be recognized during the 99th Annual National FFA Convention & Expo on October 21-24. This is the first year that the Southeast Bulloch Middle School chapter has been nationally ranked. Chapter delegates will be recognized on stage during one of the convention's general sessions in front of attendees from across the nation. All star-rated FFA chapters receive honors made possible by corporate sponsors Bayer, Cargill Protein, John Deere, New Holland, Rabobank and Syngenta.

Bulloch County Schools has four active National FFA Organization chapters: Southeast Bulloch Middle, Southeast Bulloch High, Statesboro High, and Portal Middle High. Including FFA, there are six student technical organizations, with nearly 1,500 members that are part of the school district's Career, Technical, & Agricultural Education career pathways: National FFA Organization, Future Business Leaders of America, SkillsUSA, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Technology Student Association, and Health Occupations Students of America. They each provide leadership and skill-building opportunities which further help prepare students to be enrolled, enlisted, or employed after high school.

What does One Bulloch mean to you? Share your thoughts like Peyton Wise, a first-grade teacher at Julia P. Bryant Elementary School, did:

"One Bulloch to me means teamwork," Wise said. "As a first-year teacher, I’ve experienced so much support and encouragement from my coworkers and administration. I truly feel like I have a community at my school that I can lean on, learn from, and grow with. Everyone is willing to step in, help, share ideas, and remind each other that we’re all working toward the same goal. Doing what’s best for our students! That sense of support and togetherness is what One Bulloch means to me!"

❤️❤️❤️
Our new Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Torian White, is seeking to better unite the school district and the community with a simple motivational phrase, One Bulloch. It’s even become a hashtag. As he visits offices, schools, and the community, he is encouraging standing together to build a better school district and shape the future of our entire community.

One Bulloch is the heartbeat of a shared mission: prepare students for success and enhance community value. This is a promise that every student, employee, parent, and neighbor plays an essential role in helping our kids thrive.

When our dedicated teachers inspire in the classroom, when local businesses partner with use, and when our community shows up to hold us accountable but also cheer on each achievement, we prove that our collective strength will continue to improve our school district.

We asked some of our employees what One Bulloch means to them. These are a few of their responses. What does it mean to you, and what examples come to your mind?
